Know The Scriptures To Know Jesus
After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers…
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.

Have you ever considered that Jesus grew in wisdom? Yes, He is the son of God. But He is also a human. Fully man and fully God. So this means He must acquire knowledge.
This struck me - Jesus was becoming a master in the scriptures. Like a Jewish boy of his time period, He was learning the Old Testament. Is it a coincidence that the text says this while Jesus was 12 years old? (Luke 2:42) He would have grown up learning, memorizing, hearing, and being taught the Old Testament stories. No wonder scripture is always on his lips.
The thought hit me, if i want to get inside the mind and heart of Jesus, I need to understand the Old Testament better. I need to master the scriptures and be mastered by them.
