Writing Is Hard - So Is Life
Writing is hard.
There are times where I sit down to write and things flow from my brain and heart onto the page. The sequencing feels right, the words read clear, and it feels easy. Other times, though, writing is a slog. Staring at the blinking cursor wondering what you will write. How you can get your jumbled thoughts onto the page and then construct them into coherent thoughts that flow well.
It seems daunting.
I worked in a Communication office for a season of my life. One time a writer, feeling stuck, walked into the Directors office and asked “I have writers block, it seems too daunting, how do I write this?” The director responded: “How we write never changes, one word at a time.”
That stuck with me.
It seems overly simplistic, but it makes what seems so daunting approachable again.
Life
The same is true for life, some seasons we find ourselves in feel so complex and daunting. How do we find a path forward? By making it approachable again. By making it manageable. How do we live when we feel like we can’t go on?
How we live never changes, one day at a time.
Slogging through with you, both in writing and in life,
Josh.
