Real Love Is Not Payment

A love for someone, even when they have nothing to offer... is a peculiar type of love.

It's one thing to love someone when the other person has something to offer. But when they have nothing to offer? Are needy for a season? Broken?

Do we love then?

That kind of love reminds me of someone... someone who first loved when we had nothing to offer. When we were needy and broken. As we receive that love from God, may we extend it to others.

May we not tie our love for people to what they can offer us. Because that's not real love. That's payment.
